The TransAlta Tri Leisure’s Swim Lessons have a whole new look for January 2023!
We have transitioned from Red Cross "Swim Kids" to the Lifesaving Society’s "Swim for Life" learn to swim program. Our Aquatics Team are excited to include enhancements to the Swim For Life program which will ensure all TLC swim lessons provide an excellent standard of instruction and a seamless transition for our patrons.
The transition chart above should help with this program change, or visit our website FAQ page (under the Leisure Pool Closure heading) where the most common questions are answered.

Introduce your little ones to the world of aquatic fun through the TLC's Parent & Tot and Preschool swimming lessons with our fantastic instructors!
Parented (in the water) classes that are participation/age based:
Non-Parented classes that are skill based and progressive - children must complete one level before moving on to the next:
2. Participants that have completed Preschool 4 and are now 6 years would go to Swimmer 1 Advanced
3. Participants that have completed Preschool 5 and are now 6 years would go to Swimmer 2 Beginner
Learning to swim is an essential skill for children to safely have fun in and around the water and stay active for life.
Swimmer Levels 1 to 6 (Beginner and Advanced) are skill based and progressive - children 6 to 12 years old must complete one level before moving on to the next.
Rookie, Ranger & Star Patrol are also progressive - children 10 to 13 years old must complete one level before moving on to the next.
One-on-one time is spent working on swim criteria in the participant’s specific level. Private Swimming lessons are offered to swimmers aged 6 years to 99 years!
